These works originated from photos of my visits to many nature preserves in South Florida. I printed my original photos onto drawing paper, then cut them into sections and mounted them, with some pieces elevated to interpret the dynamics of the space, creating a bas-relief effect. After mounting, I drew into the piece with colored pencil, graphite, and charcoal, to emphasize shape, form, and shadow.
