Net Zero #3 - 16"Hx16"Wx1.5"D

This series, titled “Net Zero,” juxtaposes  natural and man-made materials—leaves, branches, and earth blended with built forms and spaces —as well as portraits overlaid with photos of nature. These works reflect my deep concern for the health of our planet and the urgent need to restore a balance between the built and the natural worlds. Through this visual interpretation, I hope to emphasize our essential connection to nature and the consequences of ignoring it.
 
At the heart of this project is the concept of Net Zero: cutting carbon emissions to a level that can be absorbed and stored by nature or removed by other methods, leaving no net impact on the atmosphere. Replacing fossil fuel–based power with renewable sources like wind and solar can dramatically reduce emissions. The global goal is to limit the rise in temperature to 1.5°C, reduce emissions by 45% by 2030, and reach net zero by 2050.
 
We are already seeing the effects of climate change through more intense storms, droughts, floods, wildfires, and threats to clean water. My art responds to these critical issues based on research by the Sierra Club, The Climate Reality Project and other organizations. This series aims to spark reflection, conversation and action, because the future of our planet depends on it.
 
This work is professionally framed and ready for hanging. The frame is white and the work floats atop a white mat. To highlight yet protect the three-dimensional elements of this work, I invested in non-glare Museum Acrylic as its cover.
