“Nature-Tecture #2” joins together architectural forms with plant life – thus the play on words in the title. Pushing further on the theme of “Nature-Tecture,” its predecessor, I was compelled to create plant life bursting out from behind these architectural, manmade forms. They send us a message here: that they are present, vital, growing. This begs the question: What are we doing to protect plants, animals, oceans -- and ourselves? What is preventing us from taking action to secure the health of our planet?
Below you will see the creative process of this work. While the photo that inspired me didn't have plants in it, somehow they appeared, and kept 'growing' in the space.
